Media Gardens is a project created by KGNU Community Radio, an independent, noncommercial community radio station. Created in 2017, KGNU Media Garden’s program aims to empower the voices of creative bilingual youth in the Boulder County area by providing the resources that they need to understand what it means to thrive in digital and analog frontiers through the exploration of media, music, and culture. Media Gardens aims to develop and cultivate skills such as critical media literacy, media production, and the production of digital audio content, and more to encourage the development of digital and analog content that amplifies their voices.

*Yes, Media Gardens productions by youth participants are submitted to the news department for broadcast and those that are aired have received quite positive feedback from the news department and from listeners alike. Youth participants explore cultural, political, and current affairs, and their pieces are regularly submitted to the news department.
