Making Waves is an educational youth radio initiative in Columbia, Missouri that empowers young people to share their true stories. The program guides teenagers through the process of creating radio journalism pieces by building their skills in writing, interviewing, editing and voicing. The stories are published online, and some air on KBIA-FM, providing teens with a forum to share perspectives that are relevant to the community at large. Making Waves was active from 2014-2017.
