The Creative Black Girl Collective is a group of rising high school sophomores and juniors with creative interests and a desire to advance representations of Black girlhood in South Carolina. The objective of the collective is function as a safe, affirmative, and productive space for creating Conversations with Crescent, a learning series created by Black girls in South Carolina and adult co-creators. During the summer of 2022, 16 Black girls representing 11 of South Carolina’s 46 counties, participated in a weeklong residential experience focused on expanding the learning series.
