KQED Learn offers free, standards-aligned media literacy projects and lessons for middle and high school students to develop the essential skills of analyzing and making media for an authentic audience. In Discussions, students practice critical thinking as they analyze video prompts, conduct research, and present their own evidence-based perspective in a safe and supportive environment. Youth Media Challenges ask students to make media that explores how they see themselves, shares their view of the world, or shows how they envision a better future. Submissions are published on the public online showcase; select pieces are broadcast on KQED channels.

There, that media is likely mostly seen by peer youth. But it is also a public showcase that adults can explore, and we spotlight some pieces from the showcase in general audience programming.
