WOW: world on wheels

  • Currently active
  • Created by our station
WOW is a standards-aligned digital educational series that bridges humanities and the arts. The series is hosted by a local humanities expert and community arts leaders who follow a “jingle truck” around the world. Each episode features local artists who work to sustain their home country’s cultural heritage within our shared community. Students can create their own artistic artifacts with two “at-home artist” segments embedded in each episode. Each episode concludes with students from both cultures asking questions and sharing knowledge with each other via face-time videos. Each episode comes equipped with a set of teacher resource guides, for multiple grade bands K-12, focusing on grade level standards and integrating PBS Learning Media. Each grade band guide provides learning targets, inquiry questions and a variety of resources for educators to engage students with the knowledge beyond the episode itself. Follow us as we dig for artifacts, create art and build cross-cultural connections!
